Tools Required for Routine Maintenance
Basic general-purpose tools: Standard wrenches, screwdrivers, and clean rags; used for basic tasks such as cleaning the jack's exterior and checking or tightening fasteners.
Consumables/Lubricants: Standard hydraulic oil and lithium-based grease; used for topping up or replacing hydraulic oil and lubricating the screw shaft and moving joints.
Standard sealing components: Universal O-rings and gaskets of the correct specifications; used to replace worn seals-no custom-made parts are required.
Tools for Specific Scenarios
Draining or filling hydraulic trailer jacks can be done using a standard syringe or a small oil can; these do not qualify as specialized tools.
Pressure calibration-which may require specific pressure-testing fixtures-is generally only applicable to certain high-tonnage, industrial-grade trailer jacks; it is not involved in the maintenance of standard consumer-grade or vehicle-mounted jacks.
